Today, businessman and political outsider Owen McCarthy, Republican candidate for governor, announced that he raised $200,357 in his first filing period.
The impressive haul underscores growing momentum for McCarthy, the son of a third-generation logger and second-generation lunch lady, whose personal journey from a trailer in Patten, Maine, to successful entrepreneur has caught the attention of political observers.
